James W. Grable, Jr. has wide-ranging
experience in a variety of litigation, including trials and appeals, civil and
criminal, in state and federal courts. His clients range from impoverished
individuals in pro bono cases to large corporations in multi-million dollar
civil and criminal litigation.
Mr. Grable is a graduate of the State University of
New York at Buffalo, magna cum laude, where he was elected to Phi Beta
Kappa and received academic awards in History and Political Science. In
addition, he was a University Honors Scholar.
Mr. Grable is also an honors graduate of the State
University of New York at Buffalo Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief
of the Buffalo Law Review and was chosen by the faculty to
represent
the law school in the National Trial Competition. At graduation, Mr. Grable was
awarded the Robert J. Connelly award for excellence in trial technique and the
Carlos C. Alden award for outstanding contributions to the Buffalo Law Review.
Following law school, Mr. Grable served for two years as confidential law clerk
to the Hon. William M. Skretny, United States District Judge for the Western
District of New York.
In 2005, Mr. Grable was profiled in Business
First of Buffalo and The Buffalo Law Journal for his "courtroom
presence, advocacy and results" as one of "Western New York’s promising young
litigators." In 2006, he was awarded the Special Service Award from the United
States District Court for the Western District of New York for his "outstanding
pro bono counsel representation and dedication." Mr. Grable is one of a select
number of attorneys in upstate New York identified by their peers as a top
lawyer in the field of criminal defense as published by "Super Lawyers"
magazine.
Mr. Grable has taught trial advocacy and has served as a frequent lecturer on
evidence and federal trial objections. |
