Michael J. Roach
is a 1992 magna cum laude graduate of the State University
of New York at Buffalo Law School. As an assistant executive editor of the
Buffalo Law Review, Mr. Roach was responsible for editing professional and
student articles. He also received the Robert J. Connelly Award presented for
excellence in the Trial Technique course.
Mr. Roach is a graduate of Williams College where he majored in English and History. At Williams, he was a member of the varsity soccer and basketball teams. Mr. Roach is the President of the Western New York Chapter of the Williams College Alumni Association, and a former member of the Nichols School Board of Trustees. He is a past Director of the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Erie County Bar Association.
Mr. Roach is a partner in the firm. He engages in general trial practice with a particular concentration in representing physicians in medical malpractice lawsuits. He has tried numerous cases to successful verdicts on behalf of his clients. Mr. Roach also devotes a significant percentage of his practice to the representation of physicians and other health care professionals in investigations conducted by the New York State Department of Health. Mr. Roach is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (New York : Woodward White) for his work defending physicians in malpractice litigation. Since 2007, Mr. Roach has been one of a select number of attorneys in upstate New York identified by their peers as a top lawyer in the field of medical malpractice defense as published by New York Super Lawyers Magazine. In 2011, he was recognized in the area of medical malpractice defense in the Buffalo Business First "Who's Who in Law." He is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, which is an organization of limited membership based upon effectiveness and accomplishments in litigation.
