Best Lawyers, the oldest and
most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, has named
Terrence M. Connors as the “Buffalo Best Lawyers Personal Injury
Litigator of the Year” for 2009.
After more than a quarter of a century in publication, Best Lawyers is
designating “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large
legal communities. Only a single lawyer in specialties such as Personal Injury
Litigation is being honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.”
Mr. Connors has received this honor and designation for his work in connection
with a number of high profile cases in Western New York which have resulted in
multi-million dollar verdicts for his clients. In addition, Mr. Connors has
handled the largest personal injury verdict in the history of Western New York
when he achieved a $58.6 million dollar verdict for a client who was injured in
a diving mishap during a performance at Fantasy Island.
Best Lawyers compiles its list of outstanding attorneys by conducting
exhaustive peer review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers
confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current fifteenth edition
of The Best Lawyers in America 2009 is based on more than 2.5 million
detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers.
According to Best Lawyers, the lawyers being honored as “Lawyers of the
Year,” such as Mr. Connors, have received particularly high ratings in surveys
by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities,
professionalism and integrity.
Mr. Connors, for example, is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
Membership in that organization is limited to 1% of the lawyers in each state.
He also is a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, which limits
its membership to 500 lawyers in the United States. The Best Lawyers in
America lists him in seven (7) separate categories, including bet the
company litigation, personal injury litigation, commercial litigation, legal
malpractice, medical malpractice, and criminal law -- white collar and non-white
collar. In 2006, Mr. Connors was the first attorney from Western New York to
receive the New York State Bar Association “Attorney Professionalism Award”
which is presented to one lawyer in the state as a recognition of dedication to
clients, respect for the legal system and the pursuit of justice, exemplary
ethical conduct, competence, integrity, and civility.
