Partners Terry Connors and Jim Grable, with help from associate Kevin A. Peinkofer and summer associate Mor Wetzler, secured the dismissal of felony charges that could have resulted in life imprisonment for an indigent client.  Asked by the presiding judge to accept the defense of the client, the firm found a number of discrepancies in the proof, weaknesses in the eyewitness identification, as well as legal errors in the grand jury presentation.  Just before the trial was scheduled to begin, the Court granted the firm's motion to dismiss all of the charges, and the indigent client was released from prison.  If convicted, the client could have been sentenced as a second felony offender or even a persistent felony offender, which could have led to a term of life imprisonment.
